Registration Districts in London

REGISTRATION DISTRICTS IN LONDON

The list below shows the civil registration districts in the county of London. The same districts were used to compile the censuses returns for the years 1891 to 1911.

For the purposes of these pages, "London" refers to:

the City of London (1837–1965).
the administrative county of London (1889–1965), which was formed on 1.4.1889 from the City of London, and parts of the counties of Middlesex, Surrey, and Kent, and which was co-terminus with the registration county of London as defined in the Registrar-General's reports from 1837 onwards.

The county of London was abolished on 1.4.1965 to become part of the county of Greater London.
