It is in memory of my grandfather, Albert Edward Knaggs, who was an Able Seaman on the battleship HMS Royal Sovereign in 1901.
He later joined the Australian Navy and sailed on the submarine AE2.
He was captured at Gallipoli and taken prisoner by the Turks.
He did not survive the war, but his diary did.
