Patricia Hamilton's Family Site

Welcome to my Genealogy pages!

I am descended from the Irish Hamiltons and Croswells of Co. Leitrim and Co. Roscommon on my paternal side and the Fosters, Paynes, Danns, Sharps, Wilcoxes and Moakes from London, Kent and Surrey on my maternal side.

Many years of hard work have gone into my research and my particular thanks go to Linda Butler, Australia and Thomas Floyd, France who were there from the very beginning of the tree building. Since then I have had help from so many people in the form of information, trees and photos, most of whom are listed in the Acknowledgments section.

I have also included my one name study for the Moakes family. I have built up a tree for the South-East London Moakes families and I also act as data collector and coordinator for anything concerning the Moakes name.

Some families have been included in detail which are only loosely connected to me by marriage. This is either at the request of one of their members or because the families are particularly interesting.

I hope that you will find something of interest on these pages and I would like to hear from you if you believe you belong on my tree.

Sources: All the information on this web site is fully sourced. The sources are not shown here because they are so numerous that it would present a space and presentation problem. Anybody wishing to know the source of a particular event may send me an email. Wherever possible prime sources have been used such as immediate family members, civil registrations certificates, parish registers, censuses etc. I have tried to avoid using transcriptions whenever there is an alternative source. Despite this sometimes mistakes occur and then I would appreciate being notified of this as long as the correction is accompanied by a more reliable source than that which I have used.
