Millions of people passed through, lived, settled and died in Liverpool throughout history.
Hundreds of thousands of mariners and ships sailed back and forth to the Port of Liverpool
It is impossible to document them all on one website
This site came into being because a few years ago I managed to buy a large collection of old Liverpool Mercury newspapers and I started putting marriages, obits and snippets from them online. Since then the site has grown and grown. I've also added Liverpool snippets from old books, other old newspapers and theatre programmes in my collection
Please remember though I'm just one person doing this in my spare time. Any genealogical or historical queries please join our forum because I am inundated wih e-mails and cannot reply to them all
