The list below shows the civil registration districts in North Yorkshire since 1974.

For the purposes of these pages, "North Yorkshire" refers to:

the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire (which was created on 1.4.1974 from parts of the counties of Yorkshire North Riding, Yorkshire West Riding and Yorkshire East Riding), and
the unitary authorities of Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and York (from 1996)
the unitary authority of North Yorkshire (from 2023).
