The list below shows the civil registration districts in the county of Gwynedd between 1974 and 1996.

For the purposes of these pages "Gwynedd" refers to:

the county created on 1.4.1974 from the counties of Anglesey and Caernarvonshire and parts of the counties of Denbighshire and Merionethshire.
the preserved county created on 1.4.1996 from the principal areas of Gwynedd and Isle of Anglesey.

Bangor	Gwynedd	1974	2009	Transfererd from Caernarvonshire on 1.4.1974. Abolished 6.7.2009 and added to Gwynedd registration district.
Caernarfon	Gwynedd	1974	2009	Created 1.4.1974 out of Caernarvon and Pwllheli & Portmadoc registration districts. Abolished 6.7.2009 and added to Gwynedd registration district.
De Meirionydd	Gwynedd	1974	2009	Created 1.4.1974 out of Merioneth South registration district. Abolished 6.7.2009 and added to Gwynedd registration district.
Dwyfor	Gwynedd	1996	2009	Created 1.11.1996 by renaming Pwllheli & Porthmadog registration district. Abolished 6.7.2009 and added to Gwynedd registration district.
Dyffryn Conwy	Gwynedd	1974	1975	Created 1.4.1974 out of Conway Valley, Hiraethog, Bangor and Aled registration districts. Renamed 1.7.1975 to become Aberconwy registration district.
Gwynedd	Gwynedd	2009		Created 6.7.2009 by merging Ardudwy, Bangor, Caernarfon, De Meirionydd, Dwyfor and Penllyn registration districts.
Penllyn	Gwynedd	1974	2009	Created 1.4.1974 out of Merioneth East registration district. Abolished 6.7.2009 and added to Gwynedd registration district.
Pwllheli & Porthmadog	Gwynedd	1974	1996	Created 1.4.1974 out of Pwllheli & Portmadoc registration district. Renamed 1.11.1996 to become Dwyfor registration district.
Ynys Môn	Gwynedd	1974		Created 1.4.1974 by renaming Anglesey registration district.
